What Is Rubber Glue Self Adhesive Kraft Tape?

Packing tapes use three main adhesive types. Each behaves differently when temperatures change.

Rubber-based adhesive stands out for one reason: it works consistently from cold to warm. Acrylic stiffens in the cold. Hot melt softens in the heat. Rubber keeps holding.

Our self adhesive kraft tape with rubber glue takes advantage of this property. It seals boxes in freezer warehouses just as reliably as sun-heated loading docks.

Temperature Performance

Cold Conditions
Most rubber-based tapes stay flexible down to -20°C.  The adhesive grabs cardboard even when both are cold.

Warm Conditions
Standard grades hold continuously at 80°C. High-heat versions work at 80°C for export containers or summer shipping.

Temperature Swings
Products moving from cold warehouse to hot truck face constant change. Rubber adhesive maintains grip through the cycle without failing.

Where People Use This Tape

Cold Storage Facilities
Warehouses running at freezing temperatures need tape that applies and holds in the cold. Rubber adhesive works when acrylic tapes fail.

Summer Shipping
Trucks bake in direct sun. Boxes near metal walls get hot. Rubber-based tape resists softening when temperatures climb.

Export Containers
Containers cross climates. What starts in cold Beijing may end in hot Dubai. One tape handles both ends.

Frozen Food Packaging
Boxes leaving freezer facilities stay sealed during transit. Rubber-based tape is specified for these applications.

Warehouse with Seasonal Temperature Changes
Unheated warehouses get cold in winter, warm in summer. Rubber adhesive performs year-round.

When to Choose Rubber Tape

Good fit for:

  • Cold storage and freezer facilities

  • Summer shipping in hot climates

  • Export containers crossing temperature zones

  • Warehouses without climate control

  • Applications needing strong initial tack

Better options exist for:

  • Outdoor storage with direct sun exposure

  • Applications requiring clean removal

  • Long-term color stability needs

Storage Tips

Keep rubber adhesive tapes in cool, dry conditions. Avoid direct sunlight. Use within one year. For cold application, warm tape to room temperature first if possible.

Common Questions

How cold is too cold?
Our standard grade works at -20°C. If you need colder, specialty grades exist. Tell us your temperature.

Will it fail in summer heat?
Standard grade handles 80°C continuous. That's 140°F—hotter than most shipping environments.

Does it work on recycled cardboard?
Yes. Rubber adhesive bonds aggressively to recycled fiber and used boxes.

Can I use it for frozen food?
Many customers do. Check your food safety requirements first.

Does it leave residue?
Rubber adhesives are permanent. They bond to stay. If you need removable tape, choose acrylic instead.

Rubber self adhesive kraft tape solves the temperature problem. It seals reliably from freezer cold to summer heat. Strong initial tack means boxes stay closed from packing line to customer door.

If your shipments face temperature extremes, rubber-based tape is the practical choice. Available in standard, high-heat, and reinforced grades to match your needs.
